The program is asynchronous self-paced online learning in combination with two (2) synchronous online cohort gatherings. The Respons-Able Educator Certification (REC) is a whole new way to help teachers embed and implement digital citizenship elements in their classroom. Based on tens of thousands of hours teaching digital citizenship to students, this professional learning helps teachers build skills in not only their students, but themselves. The REC program addresses digital citizenship holistically, covering topics such as media literacy, communication, the digital economy and more. It has downloadables, lesson plans, videos and other guides that teachers can use long after they finish the program. Register Here LHRIC Instructional Technology Apr 25 May 30 Virtual/ Online event Building Foundational Skills for the Elementary Digital Learner (Hybrid) [Lifelong Practices for Digital Fluency/Literacy: Apply to Practice] Building Foundational Skills for the Elementary Digital Learner (Hybrid) This workshop is designed to provide elementary classroom teachers with an opportunity to develop strategies for teaching digital literacy foundational skills that are developmentally appropriate for their specific grade levels. The workshop will focus on integrating technology into daily classroom instruction to enhance student learning. The course will cover topics such as basic digital skills, digital citizenship and using digital tools for research, expression, practice and application. The workshop will meet twice virtually and the remainder of the requirements will be online. This course consists of two virtual meetings (April 25 from 3-4 and May 30th from 3-4), supplemented by four hours of online coursework. The online course will be open from April 29-May 29th. This session will cover a multitude of features and uses for anyone curious about or new to IXL. By using continuous diagnostics or "Smart Score", students can track their own progress in core content areas (Mathematics and ELA). This session starts with a brief overview of IXL functionality, followed by an exploration of the Continuous Diagnostic feature. We’ll explore ways to use the Real Time Center, displaying exactly what the students are working on at the moment and if they need assistance.
